Letting someone else vote (proxy)

Are you unable to go to the polling station yourself? Then you can let someone else vote for you.

Back of voting pass

If you live in the same municipality as the person who wants to give you a proxy, you can have the other person vote for you by completing this on the back of your voting card. You will receive your voting card approximately two weeks before voting day. If this is too late, for example because you are abroad, you can request a written power of attorney.

Request written power of attorney

You can choose to apply online, at the town hall or by post. You can request a written power of attorney until Monday, June 3, 2024 at the latest.

How does the other person vote for you?

The person who votes for you will receive proof that he can vote for you. This person must cast your vote at the same time as his own vote and may vote for a maximum of two other voters.

Please note: the initiative to have someone vote for you must come from you. You may not ask someone else if they can vote for you, that is prohibited. It’s also prohibited to pay for your vote, or to otherwise oblige you to have your vote cast by someone else. You are therefore punishable yourself. Once you have appointed someone to vote for you, you cannot undo this. You can then no longer vote yourself.
